(Vancouver, WA) Red Devils softball swept the Clark Penguins on Saturday, March 18, in Vancouver, WA with 23 runs on 26 hits.
Game #1: LCC 11 Clark 2 (5 innings)
Freshman pitcher,
Alli Heater, was outstanding in the circle for the Devils allowing only 5 hits in the mercy-rule win of game one vs the Clark Penguins. Heater finished the day with 2 Ks, no walks, and 2 earned runs.
The Red Devils bats took a couple innings to warm up but once they did there was no holding them back. LCC got it going in the 3rd with 5 runs on 5 hits.
Clark plated their only 2 runs in the bottom of the third but that would be it, as the Devils defense was solid and the offense was overwhelming.
Sunny Bennion went 3 for 4 on the day with 4 RBIs and a stolen base. Bennion now has 12 SB on the season.
Jada Cargo-Acosta was 2 for 3 with a triple
Sawyer Stenson 2 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs and a stolen base
Teeghan Reams was 2 for 4 with stolen base
Game #2: LCC 12 Clark 0 (5 innings)
Sophomore Pitcher,
Sadie Knutson, took to the circle for the Devils in game two hurling 87 pitches with 4 Ks and 2 BB while allowing only 4 hits for the mercy-rule win.
Once again the Devils were all over the Penguins pitchers scattering 13 hits for 12 runs.
Stenson lead the Devils going 3 for 4 with two doubles and 4 RBIs
Cargo-Acosta was outstanding going 3 for 3 with an RBI and a HBP
Maliyah Twitty also went 3 for 4 on the day with double
Bennion continued to be money, going 2 for 2 with a walk
LCC showed off its speed with 5 stolen bases. Bennion (2), Cargo-Acosta (1), Twitty (1),

Next up for the Red Devils is their home opener vs the defending NWAC Champion Mt. Hood Saints on Friday, March 24.
The first pitch of the double header is set for 3:00 pm at Heerensperger Field, Kelso, Wa.
