(Portland, OR) – The Lower Columbia College men's basketball team dug quite a hole, but it wasn't too deep.
Down 16 points in the first half, the Devils rallied to beat the Portland Panthers 88-79 on Wednesday December 6
th.
The Panthers came out smoking. Portland was ahead 35-19 with 7:44 left in the first half when LCC went on a 12-0 run to get back into the game.
Down just two at the half, the Devils took charge in the second half outscoring Portland 50-39.
Jonah Zeller had a big game for LCC with 20 points, five rebounds and two blocks.
Back-up big man
Camryn Berry was outstanding. His emphatic dunk during the first half run was an energy booster. Berry ended up with 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting.
Kaden Horn hit 7 of 11 shots on the way to 17 points
Carter McCoy, who missed a game due to a sore shoulder, was back on the floor and doing his thing with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Kobe Parlin had 10 points.
David Young was solid and was one point and one rebound shy of a double-double with nine tallies and nine boards.
Malik Brown had nine points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Keshawn Lewis was a big spark off the bench with outstanding defense in 18 minutes of play.
The Devils shot 58 percent in an enemy gymnasium.
Lower Columbia goes to 7-1 on the season and they will be back home on Saturday December 9
th when they host the Lane Titans at 6 pm.
