(Tacoma, WA) Lower Columbia Volleyball Defeats Tacoma 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-13) to move up to second place in the West Region standings.
On Friday, October 6, the Devils hit the road for a 7:00 pm match at Tacoma. LCC knew that with Pierce on bye this week a win would put them in a tie for second in the west.Â
The Devils got off to a quick start jumping out to a 15-9 lead on the strong play from sophomores
Kate Johnson,
Alex Tinsley,
Kate Onespot-Danforth, and
Paige Chinchen. LCC took the first set 25-16.
Set Two and three was all Lower Columbia as the Devils ran over the Titans to a score of 25-10 and 25-13, to take the match 3-0.Â
Lower Columbia finished the night with a .270 hitting percentage to Tacoma's .010. LCC also kept the errors to a minimum with a total of 11.Â
Johnson lead the Devils with 11 kills. Onespot-Danforth added 7 kills, 12 assists, and 8 digs. Chinchen had 6 kills and 5 digs.Â
Freshman
Kendal Collins had a big night 7 kills, 5 digs, 2 blocks, and an ace serve.
Alex Tinsley put up 13 assist with an ace serve and 11 digs.Â
Devils Libero,Â
Madi Noel, finished the night with 10 digs and 5 assists.Â
The Red Devils will be back in action on October 11th at Myklebust Gym, with a 6:00 pm match vs the Green River Gators.Â
