The Lower Columbia volleyball team celebrated the people who have fought breast cancer and remembered those we have lost with a 3-0 victory over the Green River Gators on Wednesday October 11
th.
The Dig Pink program is part of the SideOut Foundation campaign to raise money for breast cancer research and show support for the survivors.
The Associated Students of LCC provided pink T-Shirts and free pizza for the fans in attendance. The Red Devils fans saw their team win the match in 1 hour and eight minutes.
The set scored were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-12.
Paige Chinchen had nine kills to lead the attack. Fellow sophomore
Kate Johnson added eight kills.
It was a night that the Devils played everyone and also mixed up the lineups with some players playing in non-familiar situations.
The Devils had a .375 team kill percentage.
Kambree Baker had six kills and
Brooke Parsons had five.
Libero
Madi Noel led the team with 14 digs.
Kate Onespot-Danforth had a solid all-around match with three kills, 16 assists and five digs.
Alex Tinsley had 10 assists.
Lower Columbia was the latest team to beat the Gators, now 0-19 on the season. LCC is 17-7 overall and ends the first run through league at 6-1.
LCC will have a tough one this Friday when they travel to Lakewood for a 7 pm match with the Pierce Raiders.
