(Lakewood, WA) – The Lower Columbia women's defense was on full display in a 64-33 victory over Pierce on Saturday January 21
st in Lakewood.
The Red Devils held to the Raiders to single digit scoring in each quarter going up against former LCC assistant Marquessa Gilson, the first year head coach of Pierce.
LCC showed the love for their former coach prior to the game. The game itself was another matter. It was a league matchup and the Devils went out on a mission to stay undefeated in the West.
Former Raider
Aivine Soakai led the Devils with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Soakai gave the Devils numerous second opportunities by pulling down seven offensive boards.
Courtney Swan hit 3 of 5 three-point attempts on her way to an 11 point night. Swan also contributed four rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Katelynn Forner created havoc on defense and added 10 points, three rebounds, three steals and a game-high five assists.
Paige Mace had eight points, four rebounds, three assists and a game-high five steals.

Lexi Roberts each scored six points off the Red Devil bench.
Pierce had just two assists in the game. The Devil "D" forced 42 turnovers. Keshara Romain led Pierce with 16 points.
Now 4-0 in the West (14-5 overall), the Devils have a week off. Centralia suspended its program for this season. The Devils next game is Saturday January 28
th at Highline. Tip off is at 12 noon.
