(Longview, WA) – The Lower Columbia women's basketball team forced 26 turnovers in a 75-43 win over Tacoma on Wednesday January 11
th.
The Devils defense was consistent in taking the West Region opener at Myklebust Gymnasium.
Aivine Soakai led LCC with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Lexi Roberts was solid off the bench with 11 points including 3 of 4 from three-point range.
LCC spread the scoring out. Every Devil starter had at least eight points. Point guard
Katelynn Forner had nine points, four boards and a game-high five assists.
Katie Hanson had nine points with six rebounds and two steals.
Paige Mace and
Courtney Swan had eight points each. Swan also collected four boards, dished four assists and had three steals.
Bailee Larson had seven points and
Caitlin Wachmann had five.
The Devils presented problems for Tacoma but LCC took care of the ball with just nine turnovers.
LCC is now 11-5 on the season, 1-0 in the West Region. The Devils host the Grays Harbor Chokers on Saturday January 14
th. The game starts at 5 pm at Myklebust Gym.
