(Longview, WA) – The Lower Columbia men's team was locked in an intense league opener with the Tacoma Titans on Wednesday January 11
th at Myklebust Gym.
In a game that featured 17 lead changes and no double-figure leads by either team, the Devils persevered and came away with a 77-69 victory.
Sherman Royal III was locked in for LCC. The sophomore led the way with 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Kaden Horn came off the bench and provided a season-high 32 minutes for LCC. Horn scored 17 points and his free throws down the stretch helped to stave off the Titans. Horn also set up his teammates with a team-high five assists.
The game was intense from the start as both teams were fighting to get league play started with a win. There were five technicals called, three by the Titans.
Emanuel Steward got busy in the second half and he ended the game with 15 points.
Ashton Harvey had five points including a sweeping slam dunk. Harvey had five boards.
Cole Hardy scored five points with four rebounds before fouling out.
Jonah Zeller was in full rim-protection mode as he had five blocks to go with his eight points.
Carter McCoy was held to just three points but he worked hard on the glass with seven rebounds.
Xavier Savage and Dajuante Williams scored 19 points each for Tacoma (2-10).
The Devils are now 11-4 on the season. They return to league play with a home game against Grays Harbor on Saturday January 14
th. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
