(Longview, WA) – Five different Red Devils scored a goal as the LCC soccer team shutout South Puget Sound in the first ever women's soccer meeting between the two schools.
The Clipper program is in its first year in NWAC competition and they got down early to the home standing LCC squad.
Sunny Bennion scored at the 2:46 mark on a
Adalie Schierscher assist. South Puget Sound didn't crumble as the next LCC goal wasn't scored until the 34 minute mark, a
Molly Romanchock goal on a
Nataija Blaylock assist. The score was 2-0 LCC at halftime.
Blaylock got her second assist of the match when her pass set up
Kailey Shipley for her first college goal at 77'. Shipley then earned her first college assist an short time later setting up
Mikaella Moreira.
The Devils closed out the scoring with a
Bailee Larson goal at 85' set up by a
Bethany Bergholm assist.
Kyla Pires and
Taylor Wilkinson shared in the shutout. LCC outshot South Puget Sound 21-0.
The Devils are 5-0-2 in the West Region, tied with Highline. The T-Birds are also 5-0-2.
The Centralia Blazers come to Northlake Field on Wednesday September 28
th for a 4 pm match.
