(Puyallup, WA) It is always a hard fought match when on the road vs Pierce and Wednesday's soccer match in Puyallup, WA was just that.
The Red Devils controlled the ball through most the first half outshooting the Raiders 5 to 4. It wasn't until the 40 Minute that LCC hit pay dirt when Jasmarie Nolasco took a pass from
Adalie Schierscher, drove around the Raiders goalie and hit the back of the net. LCC held the lead into the half.
The second half found the Red Devils dealing with 8 foul calls and two yellow cards. One of those foul calls just outside of the goal box allowed Pierce's Marissa Young a direct shot. Devils keeper,
Kyla Pires, was able to block it but the ball bounced out of her hands allowing the Raiders forward Ashlyn Kennedy to get one over Kyla's head to even up the score at 1-1.
Pires finished the day with 6 saves in 90 minutes of play. Red Devils had the advantage in corner kicks 4-0 while Pierce out shot the Devils overall 12-7.
Lower Columbia now sits at 3-0-2 in the west, 5-2-3 overall. The tie adds 1 point to LCC's season total putting them in the lead with 11 points in total. Highline and Pierce are tied for second in the west with 10 points each.
