(Longview, WA) – With the Mt. Hood crossover coming up and some current nagging injuries, the Lower Columbia College volleyball team put its depth on display with a 3-0 sweep over Shoreline on Tuesday September 13
th.
Red Devils head coach divvied up the minutes and it led to a team victory. The set scores were 25-10, 25-11 and 25-20.
Brooke Parsons led the attack with eight kills.
It was a match of service runs for the Devils.
Katy Cooper went on a 12-0 run in the first set. She ended up with six service aces in the match.
Paige Chinchen served 10 straight points in the second set. Chinchen also had six kills and nine digs.
Arianna Vreeland had 23 digs and
Jazzy Golly had 16 digs.
Y Ta had extended time on the court and played well with two kills, four digs and a team-high three blocks.
With the win the Devils go to 10-2 on the season.
LCC will take on Linfield on Thursday September 15
th (7:00 pm) and then open the Mt. Hood Crossover with a 10:00 am match with Spokane on Friday September 16
th. LCC will play Umpqua at 2:00 pm Friday. They take on Edmonds at 11:00 am Saturday September 17
th and then will have a bracket match at a time to be decided. All the games are at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham.
