The Lower Columbia team got off to a slow start with Green River controlling the play in much of the first half. It wasn't until the 38th minute that

Nataija Blaylock hit
Fiona Andrews right in front of the Gators goal for an easy chip shot to make it 2-0 Devils at the half.
The second half found the Red Devils looking comfortable and in control as they moved the ball around well. The Gators defense held until the 52nd minute when once again Romanchock hit the back of the net with a great shot from outside the box.
Abby Schroeder put the exclamation point on the match in the 84th minute when she worked her way around a Gators defender and rocketed one past the Green River goalie.
Kyla Pires and
Taylor Wilkinson combined for the shutout for the Devils. Pires had two saves on the day.Â
Green Rivers goal keepers Hannah Miller and Caitlin Anderholm had 3 and 4 saves respectively.Â
The Devils out shot the Gators 21 to 4 and held the advantage in corner kicks 6 to 2.Â
The Red Devils are now 3-0-1 in the west, 5-2-2 overall. Next up for Lower Columbia is a road trip to Lakewood, WA for 3:00 pm match vs the Pierce Raiders on Wednesday, September 14.Â
