(Longview, WA) – A tight first quarter morphed into a solid victory for the LCC women's basketball team on Wednesday February 2
nd.
The Devils defeated rival Centralia 71-57 to allow LCC to stay unbeaten in the Western Region of the NWAC.
Up 17-14 after the first quarter, LCC kicked the game open by outscoring the Blazers 20-11 in the second quarter.
LCC showed its depth by getting 42 bench points.
Jazlynn Novelli did the most damage coming into the game for 25 points. The freshman from Wasilla, Alaska was 5 for 10 from downtown and 9 for 14 overall.
Chinedu Nnadi also came in and provided plenty of talent off the bench with 15 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Michaela Harris was the lone starter in double figures with 10 points. Harris, the like the other starters, did plenty of great work in other areas.
Jodi Noyes had six points and nine rebounds.
Danica Schmidt had two points, five boards, two assists and three steals.
Katelynn Forner scored three points with six assists, three caroms and three steals.
Ally Harman had five points.
The Devils full court pressure defense gave up some lay-ins, but more importantly forced 23 Blazer turnovers.
Allison DeBerry led Centralia with 15 points.
Lower Columbia is now 14-1 on the season and 4-0 in the West.
