(Eugene, OR) Red Devils men's Basketball kicked the 2022-23 season off on Saturday, November 19 with a 92-77 win at Lane Community College.
The Red Devils and Titans were pretty evenly matched in the first half of Saturdays game but LCC turned it on in the second half to get the double digit win. Lower Columbia won the battles under the hoop pulling in 46 rebounds to Lanes 21, 18 of those being offensive leading to 16 second chance points. The Devils were shooting 50% from behind the arc hitting 9-18 3pt, and 61% from the line with 17-28 FT. They also had a 49% FG percentage hitting 33-67 from the floor.
LCC did struggle with turnovers handing the ball over 12 times.
Sherman Royal III lead the Devils offense with 30 pts, 8 rbs, and 1 ast.
Emanuel Steward had 24 pts, 4 rbs, and 4 ast.
Ashton Harvey added 9 points and 8 rebounds. Coly Hardy contributed 8 pts and pulled down 6 rbs.
Devean Hinton lead the Titans with 18 pts and 9 rbs.
Next up for the Devils is a series of home games as the Devils host seven other NWAC schools at the annual Red Devil Classic, November 25-27.
Day one of the Classic will feature Centralia vs Everett (1:00 pm), Spokane vs SW Oregon (3:00 pm), Olympic vs Yakima Valley (5:00 pm), and Mt. Hood vs Lower Columbia (7:00 pm)
