(Longview, WA) Red devils volleyball started of slow dropping the first set to Pierce but they rally back to win it in four (21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-19) to get Coach
Carri Smith her 200th career win as a Red Devil.
Lower Columbia welcomed Pierce to Myklebust Gym on Friday, October 14th for a big West Region match up. Not only was it a chance to give Coach Smith her 200th win but the Devils (6-1) needed a win in order to stay within striking distance of first place Highline (7-0). Pierce had hoped to play spoiler and came out strong in the first set out hitting LCC .351% to .152% earning the 25-21 win. Lower Columbia did what they do best after that, they reset and made the necessary adjustments to counter what Pierce was doing. The adjustments worked as the Devils put the Raiders on their heels and took the second set 25-22. The Devils continued to build on the momentum they had gained and held Pierce to only 7 kills in the third set, winning by 25-15. Pierce gave it all they could in the fourth but Lower Columbia was on fire and hitting at a .294% in the fourth to win the set 25-19, and the match 3-1.
