(Longview, WA) – The Lower Columbia women's basketball team showed some shooting rust early, but they applied the defensive pressure right from the start and went on to beat the Green River Gators 68-33 on Wednesday January 19
th.
LCC came out and pressured the Gators who had trouble scoring let alone getting the ball up the court. Green River had just 13 points at halftime.
But the Devils were off the mark for most of the first half until they exploded for 28 points in the third quarter and turned it into a laugher.
Katelynn Forner led LCC with 13 points and
Jazlynn Novelli added 12 off the bench. Novelli was the catalyst in the big third quarter.
Jodi Noyes did the bulk of her damage in the first half. Noyes ended up with 10 points and six rebounds.
Danica Schmidt led the Devils with eight rebounds to go with her six points.
LCC goes to 1-0 in the West and they will next host Pierce on Saturday January 22
nd. Game time is 5 pm at Myklebust Gym.
