The Lower Columbia women's soccer team played the second of three scheduled games against Northwest Conference NCAA Division III schools and they hund in there and showed they can compete.
The George Fox Bruins defeated Lower Columbia 1-0. The Bruins scored the lone goal at the 22 minute mark and although they did put the pressure on LCC in the second half the Devils held firm and kept it to the one goal deficit.
LCC can thank goalkeeper
Kyla Pires. Playing well on her birthday, Pires collected 12 saves and delt with 26 shots according to the GFU statistic sheet.
The stats showed the Bruins out shooting the devils 24-6.
Lower Columbia had two really good opportunities among there four shots, but the ball went wide.
The Devils have one more game against an Oregon D-3 school as they take on the Linfield Wildcats. It's a quick turnaround as the Devils play in consecutive days. The LCC at Linfield match in McMinnville is Thursday September 2nd at 4:00 pm.
