The Red Devils couldn't muster much offense and an early Pierce goal held up as the Raiders beat Lower Columbia 1-0 in NWAC women's soccer on Friday May 21
st in Puyallup.
Â
Madison Ryneski scored at the 20 minute mark and the Raiders were able to hold on in a defensive battle. Both teams seemed to be off with touches as the ball went back and forth with little threats by either side.
Â
The Devils did outshoot the Raiders 9-6, but Pierce had two good second half chances to score again but both shots sailed high over the goal.
Â
Lower Columbia tried to step up the pace in the final 15 minutes. An LCC corner kick was placed well with five minutes left but the header went high and wide and the game ended 1-0.
Â
Lower Columbia will close out the season next Tuesday with a road match at Bellevue.
Â
The Devils are 1-6-2 on the season.
