Devils Doing Damage, Sweep Pierce

Jade Behic flirted with perfection and plenty of her teammates were comfortable at the plate as the Lower Columbia College softball took two games from Pierce on May 15th at Tam O'Shanter Park.

Coming off a two-week layoff due to opponents dealing with injury issues, the Devils came out and looked very good.

With LCC ahead by eight runs in the fifth inning, Behic had a chance for a perfect game after she mowed through the first 12 Pierce batters.  Kaitlyn Gain spoiled it with a solo homer.  That would be the only hit the Raiders got.  Behic struck out six and walked none in a masterful performance.

The Devils jumped on Raider pitching for three runs in the first, two in the second and three in the third.

Katelyn McGough was 2 for 3 with four RBI's.

Taylor Alto hit her first college home run and added a triple, part of a 3 for 3 game with two RBI's.

Kinzey Williams continued her incredible season as she was 3 for 4 with three runs scored.

The Devils jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first inning of the second game.  Ahead 7-1 after two frames, the Devils allowed four runs in the third knocking out starting pitcher Tatum Guzman.

Mallory Brown came in and pitched two innings of hitless, scoreless relief.

Alto continued to pound the softball as she went 2 for 3 including another triple.

Katelyn McGough hit her 11th homer of the season and drove in four runs, a total of eight on the day.

Kinzey Williams had another 3 for 4 game with three more runs.

Saydie Harris and Ada Williams had RBI doubles.

The Devils played errorless defense in both games. A highlight was an incredible diving catch by catcher Brittnee Harvill.  She went back and found the foul pop up and dove headfirst against the fence.

LCC is now 16-0 on the season.  The Devils will have the final home games of the season on Wednesday May 19th against Highline.  The start time has been changed to 1 pm at Heerensperger Field at Tam O'Shanter Park in Kelso.
