The Highline Thunderbirds did not take the Lower Columbia Red Devils lightly this time.
Earlier this season Highline had to score two late goals to beat LCC 3-2. But in the rematch on Tuesday May 11th, the T-Birds came out strong and came away with a 4-0 victory at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila.
Myka Carr got the first of her two goals inside the first 10 minutes and then Abby Carmel got the first of her two goals at 16' and Highline was on their way to victory.
Carr's second goal was at 31' pn a Kayla Ness assist and the Thunderbirds led 3-0 at halftime.
Carmel scored again at 48' on another Ness assist and that would be the end of the Highline onslaught. The Devils would close out the game keeping Highline out of the net for the final 40 minutes.
Kyla Pires had six saves in the first half and
Jade Cox collected four saves in the second half.
The T-BIrds outshot the Devils 15-3.
LCC drops to 1-5-2 on the season. The Devils go back on the road Friday May 21st at Pierce and then close out the season with a road match at Bellevue on Tuesday May 25th.
