Blazers Grind Late For 2-0 Win Over Devils

It was a physical, grinding match when Lower Columbia hosted Centralia in NWAC West soccer on Friday April 30th.

Much like the first time the two teams met, Centralia had the late answers again and came away with a 2-0 victory.

Neither the Devils or Blazers had any clear advantage in this one.  Both teams battled hard in a match where physical play was the norm.  But at the 75 minute mark of the second half, Rhiannon Lott found the net on a Haylee Ward assist.

Pressured to make something happen, the Devils made a key turnover and Ward cashed in for the final tally.

Jade Cox had seven saves in goal.

Anastasia Ulrigg had three shots, two on goal.  Jolie Gullickson led the way with four shots.

Mariol Vargas had the clean sheet for Centralia.

The Devils (0-4-2) have a week off before they host Tacoma on Friday May 7th.
