The Lower Columbia softball team got a stern challenge in Puyallup, but came away with a double header sweep over Pierce on Wednesday April 28
th.

The Devils held on for dear life to win the opener 6-5 and took the wild nightcap 15-8.

Jade Behic came up with some clutch pitching in the opener. She escaped a one-out, bases loaded jam in the 6
th and then got three big outs in the 7
th after Pierce had hit a bloop and a blast to make it a one run game.

Behic got the complete victory striking out 10 Raiders.
Â
Katelyn McGough continued her torrid hitting by blasting her 7
th homer of the season, a two run bomb to give LCC a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.Â
Ada Williams followed with a ringing RBI double and the Devils led 3-0 before Pierce came to bat.

The Raiders came right back with two runs in the bottom of the first before Behic settled in.

Ada Williams added a solo homer in the third before
Saydie Harris came up with a clutch RBI single.
Â
Kinzey Williams went 3 for 4 from the leadoff spot.

In game two, the unbeaten Devils found them selves down 7-4 to Pierce after the Raiders scored five runs in the bottom of the 4
th inning.
But the Devils refused to go quietly, matching Pierce's five with a five of their own in the top of the 5
th.
Saydie Harris hit a three run shot to tie the game up. LCC added two more in the frame to take a 9-7 lead.

Lower Columbia purchased some insurance in the 7
th when
Katelyn McGough hit yet another two run homer.
Taylor Alto smacked a two run single and
Maddie Curaming also singled home a run.
Â
Alto also made a great defensive play in the sixth inning diving to snare a line drive and throwing to second to double up the runner.

Tatum Guzman got the win going all seven innings in the second game.
Â
McGough now has eight home runs on the season after slamming two on the day.Â
Kinzey Williams was 6 for 8 on the day with four runs scored. Harris was 5 for 7 with six RBI's over the twin bill.

The Devils are now 12-0 on the season as they travel to Highline on Saturday May 1
st for a 12 pm double header.
