There weer plenty of stats that show the Lower Columbia College women's soccer team had plenty of success against Bellevue on Tuesday April 20th.
The one that counts the most went to Bellevue as the Bulldogs defeated the Red Devils 2-1 in NWAC soccer.
LCC out shot Bellevue 10-7. LCC led in corner kicks 3-1. Bellevue fouled 12 times against LCC's 2. But it's all about the scoreboard and not the stat sheet.
Lower Columbia certainly didn't get any breaks despite controlling play most of the way. Scoreless at the 28' mark, it appeared an obvious off-sides call was missed and Bellevue's Marisa McFarland took advantage scoring an unassisted goal. It was 1-0 at halftime.
Another bad break was when LCC goal keeper
Brandi Stoker was called for a yellow card despite contact initiated by a Bellevue player. Fatumata Dukereh cased in the penalty kick and the Bulldogs led 2-0.
The Devils stayed with it and
Jolie Gullickson avoided the shutout by scoring an LCC goal at the 72 minute mark.Â
Chloe Poole got the assist.
Marissa Moyle had an outstanding game for LCC as she had five shots, three on goal.
The Devils (0-2-1) will host Pierce on Friday April 23rd in a 12 noon start at Northlake Field.
