Lower Columbia College sports made it's pandemic return on Thursday April 2
nd with a volleyball sweep at Centralia.

The match was a three-component victory that featured a blowout, a hold off and a gut check. The Devils won set one 25-9, held off a Blazers second rally by winning 25-21 and then rallied from an early deficit and finished strong with a 26-24 win.

Carri Smith was pleased with what she saw. "I'm happy with how we played in our first outing", she said. "we had a lot of strong moments with all cylinders firing offensively."

It was a balanced LCC attack and every player got on the court and contributed.
Camryn Wilson had seven kills and 12 digs to lead the effort.

Jayden Foster fought through some under the net action and came up with seven kills and ended up with a sore ankle.Â
Zoe Naugle had six kills, three blocks and four digs.Â
Josie Dew had five kills and
Emily Borgstedt had four kills.

Karsyn Zaragoza was solid at setter where she had 18 assists, eight digs and two kills. Libero
Emma Nelson had 11 digs to lead the defense.Â
Amanda Holm was also effective with 12 assists and two aces.

"There were a few hiccups here and there, but overall a solid performance and everyone on the roster came in at some point and contributed and so it was a great night for the Red Devils", according to Coach Smith.

LCC will have a tough week as they are slated to host Highline on Wednesday April 7
th (7 pm) and travel to Tacoma on Thursday April 8
th.
