Taylor Pomeroy was not going to be denied.
The Red Devil sophomore battled a leg cramp in the second half but was still able to score 27 points to lead Lower Columbia to a 68-61 victory over Centralia on April 13th.
Pomeroy hit 9 of 15 shots, 5 of 10 three's and made all four of his free throws. He had to come out of the game at one point when he cramped up after getting fouled. The sophomore from Portland came back in and shared the good times when the buzzer sounded.
LCC had balanced scoring on the night.
Solomon Campbell had nine points and five rebounds.
Sherman Royal III made some big plays and ended the night with nine points and eight boards.
Dawson Fritz had eight points.
Ky-mani Pollard battled foul problems but was solid at the end of the game. Pollard had six points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Cole Hardy also played well with six points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
LCC shot 45 percent from the floor.
Colby White led Centralia with 17 points. James Harding added 16 and nine rebounds.
Lower Columbia (1-0) will host Grays Harbor on Friday April 16th. It will be an earlier start time at 5:00 pm.
