Devils Hand Clackamas Its First Loss

(Longview, WA) – The Lower Columbia College women's basketball team is serious about being a contender this season.
 
The Red Devils beat one of the top teams in the NWAC on Tuesday night December 14th, an 87-69 victory over the Clackamas Cougars.
 
Clackamas came into the game with an 8-0 record with a great player in Brooke Bullock.  Bullock was outstanding with 32 points, but the Devils turned up the defense and got two great performances from their stars.
 
Jodi Noyes had 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way.  Noyes was 10 for 15 from the floor and she pounded the glass with five offensive rebounds.
 
Michaela Harris also had an outstanding game with 18 points and three assists.
 
It was a total team effort as the Devils didn't back down to the talented Cougars who dropped to 8-1 on the season.
 
Katelynn Forner had eight points despite foul trouble. Paige Mace scored eight points and had four assists.  Danica Schmidt had seven points, five rebounds and three assists.
 
Samantha Collins did a great job in relief of Noyes, scoring five points including a three ball.  Jazlynn Novelli had six points and Chinedu Nnadi had five.
 
The Devils shot 52 percent on their home floor and they led wire-to-wire against an outstanding NWAC team in Clackamas.
 
The 7-0 Devils head to Walla Walla for the NWAC Cross Over event.  LCC plays Linn Benton Friday at 5 pm, Shoreline Saturday at 3 pm and host Walla Walla Sunday at 2 pm.
