Red Devils Men's Basketball got the 2021-22 season started Tuesday, November 23, at Myklebust Gym in the Stoller Athletic Center.
The Devils hosted the North Region Shoreline Dolphins and If Tuesday night's game was any indication of how the season will go, Devils fans are in for an exciting season. Shoreline, fresh off a 94-71 win over Highline, came to Longview ready for a battle and that is what they got. Shoreline out shot Lower Columbia in the first half both from the floor and beyond the 3pt line, 49-40% and 40-25% respectively, but it was the Devils free throw shooting that kept them in the game. The Devils went 15-17 for 88% from the line to the Dolphins 33%. LCC took a 43-40 led in the half. The game stayed close until about the last five minutes when the Devils made a run to put the game out of reach.
LCC shooting improved in the second half to 40% from the floor and 44% three-point shooting. The Devils made their shots when it counted, including 38 points off the bench to get the 101-94 victory
