Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Devils Ready For The Dance After Winning At Tacoma

It was another close game with Tacoma, but for the second time this season the Lower Columbia women's basketball team made the big plays down the stretch to come away with an 87-79 victory on Wednesday February 26th.

Down three with 7:33 left in the game, Lower Columbia tied things up with an Ally Harman three-pointer and they never looked back.  Bailey Farrer hit another three to go up by five and then LCC hit free throws in the final minutes to capture the teams sixth straight win.

Cherita Daugherty had a huge game for the Devils as she scored 28 points with seven rebounds and three assists.  With head coach Lucas Myers imploring Daugherty to shoot first-pass second, Cherita hit 5 of 9 three's.  When the Titans were forced to play the foul game down the stretch, Daugherty responded by going 8 for 8 at the line in the final 1:15.  Madison Mosier and Josie Schmitz were also money at the line in the lengthy final two minutes.

Madeline Jacobson had a big game for LCC. The "Post from the Coast" scored 24 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.  Jacobson missed just one field and one free throw.  Jacobson's minutes were extended when starting center Jodi Noyes was held out of the game as a precaution and Madeline was feeling it.  She was 10 for 11 from the floor and 4 for 5 at the free throw line.

Farrer scored 12 points with four boards and four assists.  Mosier had eight including the clutch free throws (5 for 6 at the line). Schmitz had six assists to go with her five points.

Adrienne Washington had a big game off the Tacoma bench with 25 points.

The Devils finish West play with a 12-2 record good for second seed into the NWAC tournament which begins Thursday March 5th in Everett.  The NWAC Selection Show is at 4 pm on Sunday March 1st. The show will be aired live from Myklebust Gym and hosted by LCC athletic Director Kirc Roland. You can watch the show on the NWAC website: nwacsports.com
