The first minute was good. The rest? Not so much.
After starting the game on a 7-0 run, the Lower Columbia women's basketball team struggled the rest of the way dropping the NWAC West Region opener to Centralia 68-53 Wednesday January 8
th at Myklebust Gym.
The Blazers played very well after falling behind 7-0. They went on their own 7-0 run to tie it, then took control of the game by outscoring LCC 23-16 in the opening quarter. The Devils could never recover.
LCC shot 35 percent from the floor and just 21 percent from beyond the arc. The free throw shooting was even worse as the Devils were 7 for 12 (58%).
Add in the 18 LCC turnovers and it made for a disappointing night.
Madison Mosier led the Devils with 13 points, six rebounds and four steals.
Jodi Noyes had eight points and four boards.
Michaela Harris and
Cherita Daugherty had seven each. Daugherty added seven rebounds and five assists.
Selena Cudney and Megan Cash scored 19 each for the Blazerss.
