Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Devils Open League With A Blazer Blowout

The Lower Columbia men's basketball team was ready to start playing games that could lead to a potential NWAC West Region championship.

Boy, were they ready!

Taylor Pomeroy came off the bench and put on a long distance show as the Devils beat the Centralia Trailblazers 93-65 Wednesday January 8th at Myklebust Gym.  Pomeroy hit 5 of 9 three-point attempts and led LCC with 19 points.  "We made the extra pass and my teammates were getting the ball to me in rhythm", Pomeroy said after the game.  "Coach Polis told us at halftime to keep moving the ball and it was fun to be dialed in."

Alexis Angeles had another solid game for LCC as scored 17 points.  Amiri Chukwuemeka was active with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Travis Patrick just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.  Patrick also had the Red Devil crowd fired up with another of his rim rattling dunks.

Jonah Crumpton-Murray came off the bench for nine points and fellow Californian Juwan Couey provided a spark with five points.

Lower Columbia had just nine turnovers and out-rebounded the Blazers 47-36.

L'Marcus Walker led Centralia with 13 points.

The Devils (12-3, 1-0) have a tough road test on Saturday January 11th as they take on the Highline T-Birds in a 2 pm game in Des Moines.

LCC returns to the home floor on Wednesday January 15th when they host South Puget Sound at 8 pm.
