Lower Columbia's talented point guard
Cherita Daugherty is unselfish by nature. She loves to get her teammates involved and takes pleasure in distributing.
There are some nights when looking for yourself is good. Daugherty was more than good on Wednesday January 29
th as she came up with her first college triple-double in the Devils 80-76 victory over Tacoma.
Cherita was incredible with 28 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and a blocked shot in final seconds. Daugherty was relentless with five offensive rebounds. She also got to the free throw line 14 times, making eight. That was probably her only complaint because she was shooting 82 percent from the line before missing six last night.
Tacoma would not go away. Playing without head coach Jenn Keyes who was dealing with a family illness, assistant Keesha Thomas saw the Titans hang around. Mayra Rodriguez had 23 points to lead the way.
Tommia Pakootas provided a much needed lift in the third quarter when Tacoma was going on a run. The freshman sharpshooter hit back-to-back three's to get the Devils back on track. Pakootas had eight points off the bench.
Madison Mosier had 10 points and
Bailey Farrer scored nine.
With starting post
Jodi Noyes in foul trouble,
Melenaite Kata had a good run ending with six points and four rebounds.
The Devils go to 6-1 in West Region play and it sets up a huge game at Centralia on Wednesday February 5
