Red Devils Volleyball began league play on Wednesday, September 25, at Myklebust Gym vs the South Puget Sound Clippers.
It took four sets but the Devils came out on top with the 3 sets to 1 win (25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16).
Lower Columbia had 46 kills on the night with a .246 hitting percentage. They were lead by
Ashlynn Cantwell with 17 Kills,
Camryn Wilson 7 Kills, and
Paige Moorcroft &
Zoe Naugle had 6 kills each.
Karsyn Zaragoza put up 38 assist and Labero
Emma Nelson had 15 Digs. Cantwell, Zaragoza, Wilson and Nelson were also the West Region Players of the week for week five.
Clippers players Janae Odom and Airyn Jackson led South Puget Sound with 6 and 10 Kills respectively. It was serving errors that really hurt the Clippers as they end the night with 19 errors.
The Devils are currently on a 3 game winning streak and hope to continue that trend on Friday, September 27, when they welcome the Pierce Raiders to Myklebust Gym. The last time these two teams meet was in November of 2018, Pierce defeated the Devils 3-0 that night. So far this season, Pierce is 21-2 and looks to be the team to beat in the West.
