Devils Take Third At Spokane Cross Over

The Lower Columbia College volleyball team played solid teams and competed well at the NWAC Cross Over Tournament hosted by Spokane on Friday and Saturday September 13th and 14th.
 
The Devils won three of four matches and came away with a third place finish.
 
Lower Columbia beat Skagit Valley and Mt. Hood on Friday both by scores of 3-1.
 
In the semi-finals on Saturday, the Devils dropped a close match to North Idaho 3-2.  The Cardinals won the deciding set 15-5.  LCC had a 2-1 sets lead in the match only to see the Cards rally for the victory.
 
In the third place match, the Devils took care of West Region rival Highline 3-1.
 
Freshman libero Emma Nelson had 62 digs in the four matches along with six assists and five aces.  She was named to the All-Tournament team.
 
Karsyn Zaragoza was outstanding at setter as she compiled 100 assist, 18 digs, 10 aces and four blocks.
 
Ashlynn Cantwell had 45 kills, 53 digs, six aces and three blocks.
 
Also at the net, Zoe Naugle had 13 kills and 12 blocks.  Kapio Wetmore had 16 kills and five blocks. Kiana Scott and Desarae Reab had 10 kills each.  Abigail Brotherton had eight kills and five blocks. Paige Moorcroft was credited with eight kills and four blocks.  Bai-Lee Wallace had five kills and six blocks.
 
Camryn Wilson provided plenty of numbers with 40 assists, 28 digs and 26 kills.
 
Haley Paul had 24 digs in the four matches.  Karli Hall came up with nine kills and 15 digs.
