What was originally scheduled as an eastern Washington road trip, the Lower Columbia Red Devils were at home and took care of business sweeping Columbia Basin and Walla Walla on Friday March 15
th and Saturday March 16
th.

With the Hawks and Warriors both struggling to get field time because of the recent snow and ice issues, the games were moved to Story Field.

Friday the Devils swept the Hawks 11-2 and 4-0. Saturday LCC came away with victories over Walla Walla 11-2 and 10-3.

The weekend started with Basin scoring two first inning runs against Devils starter
Mitch Lines. Lines shook it off and hung goose eggs the rest of his outing. Lines went seven innings allowing just the two runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.Â
Dakota Hawkins pitched the final two frames and allowed two hits with three strikeouts.

Colin Floyd led the offense with two hits and three RBI's.Â
Zach Threlfall had three hits.

Jhamante Woods had two hits and two RBI's including a massive home run that landed on top of the storage shed in left center field. The Devils pounded out 12 hits and eight LCC players drove in at least one run.

In the second game against Columbia Basin,
Justin Solt pitched six innings of four-hit, shutout baseball. Solt struck out 10 and walked just one.Â
Alex Brady got the three-inning save by allowing just two hits with six strikeouts.

Ahead just 1-0 heading into the bottom of the 7
th inning, LCC came through with three runs. CBC pitchers Robert Voortmeyer and Jonah Callaghan allowed just seven hits.

DeShawn Johnson had two hits for LCC.
Noah Andrews and
Shane Jamison each had one hit and an RBI. Woods drove in a run on a sacrifice fly.

The masterful LCC pitching continued on Saturday against Walla Walla.Â
Yancy Bird took the ball and went six innings of shutout ball allowing just one base hit, striking out nine. Bird took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a single.Â

The Devils won the game in seven innings when Walla Walla pitcher Brody Woods balked in a run that gave LCC the mercy-rule 10 run lead in the top of the 7
th.

Shane Jamison had a big game going 3 for 4 with three RBI's including a home run that left the park to left field.
Â
Tommy Davis hit his first collegiate home run, part of a 2 for 4 game with three runs scored. Davis also had a triple.Â
Drew Barlow had two hits including an RBI double.
Â
The weekend concluded with more Red Devil pitching success.Â
Eli Shubert scattered six hits in six innings giving up two runs with eight strikeouts.Â
Kaden Vanderwerf went three innings of relief. He allowed three hits with no walks and two K's.

Jamison capped off a big weekend for him by going 3 for 5 with an RBI. In the four games, Jamison was 8 for 16 with six RBI's.

Floyd hit a two run homer in the weekend finale. Davis and Barlow each had a hit and an RBI.

The Devils are now 11-3 on the season. LCC will go up against Edmonds (13-2) in a four game series Friday March 22
nd and Saturday March 23
rd. Friday's twin bill is at Story Field beginning at 1:00 pm. The teams then head to Edmonds for a double header on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
