Devils Advance To NWAC Elite Eight

The Lower Columbia College women's basketball team held just a three point lead over Skagit Valley at halftime in the NWAC Sweet 16 game on Saturday March 9th.
 
The Devils came out in the third quarter with a spark and it was the key to a 68-52 win over the Cardinals.  LCC outscored SVC 25-12 in the quarter and it turned out to be the difference in the game.
 
Kenya Lorton led the Devils with a playoff double-double.  The sophomore from Adna had 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
 
Emily Packham was solid with 18 points, three assists and three steals.
 
Madeline Jacobson came off the bench and provided a big boost with 10 points and five blocked shots.
 
Jerri Maluyo played a strong floor game with seven points, 11 assists and three steals.  Shasta Lofgren had six points, three boards and four assists.
 
Nizhoni Wheeler scored eight.
 
Lower Columbia advances to the Elite Eight where they will take on one of the pre-tournament favorites Lane.  The Titans will be looking to avenge a loss to LCC back on December 1st.
 
The Devils and Titans tip it off at 5 pm on Sunday March 10th at the Everett Community College Gymnasium.
