Red Devils men's basketball traveled to Auburn, WA on Wednesday, February 6, looking to take one from the 6-1 Gators but Green River spoiled that in the last minutes of the game and for the second time this season beat LCC by one. Final score was 76-75.
The score was tied 14 times during the game and the lead changed 15 times. The largest lead of the game was 7, held by LCC in the first half but with 2 minutes to go Green River got their largest lead of the night, 5, and that was enough to hold off the Devils.
Samaad Hector put up another double-double, his 9th of the season, with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Seth Hall had 20 points including four 3-pointers.
Martis Johnson continued to be solid with 13 pts, 3 rbs and 3 ast.
Devonte Dennis had 8 pts, 4 rbs, 4 ast and 3 stl.
Alec Canete-Hall had 7 pts and 6 ast.
Kevin Baker was the top scorer for Green River with 27.
The loss puts LCC at 4-4 in league play and in a 3 way tie for 4 place. They are still in the hunt for an NWAC playoff spot.Â
