Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Blazers Get Rare Sweep Over LCC

For the first time in seven years and just the second time in 29 years the Centralia Trail Blazers men's basketball team has swept the league season series over Lower Columbia.

The Blazers turned a close game into a blowout in a blink of an eye on Monday February 11th. Centralia won the game 81-63 at Michael Smith Gymnasium in Hub City.

Down 40-33 at halftime, the Red Devils got back into the game and was trailing just 49-47 with 13 minutes to go.  Lower Columbia suddenly became turnover prone and the Blazers won it going away.

25 turnovers by LCC did not help the cause.  Centralia scored 33 points off the LCC miscues and the Red Devils could cash just 10 points off the 14 Trail Blazer turnovers.

Seth Hall had 17 points to lead the LCC scorers.  Travis Patrick came off the bench to score 17, including two thunderous dunks.  Patrick also had seven rebounds.  Those were the only double figure scorers for LCC.

Marqus Gilson had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Centralia.

The Blazers took two league games from LCC back in 1991 and the last time in 2013.

The Red Devils drop to 4-5 in West Region play as they head into two straight home games.  They take on Pierce on Wednesday February 13th in a big game.  LCC will be looking to sweep the league series with the Raiders.  Game time has been changed to 7 pm at Myklebust Gym.
