In a physical game with playoff implications, the South Puget Sound Clippers defeated the Lower Columbia men's team 69-65 on Wednesday February 20
th in Olympia.

It was the Clippers second straight home win over LCC after the Red Devils had won nine straight at the SPSCC Gym.

Down 8-0 at the outset and behind by 13 in the first half, Lower Columbia battled back to make it a game.Â
Seth Hall hit a three with 6:45 left in the game giving LCC a 58-55 lead. But the Clips hit two big three's in the final four minutes to keep the Devils at bay.

Point guard
Alec Canete-Hall fueled the Devil comeback, hitting three second half three's on the way to 20 points.

Martis Johnson had 12 points before fouling out late in the game.

Samaad Hector led LCC with 10 rebounds to go with his six points.
Â
A surprising number was the Clippers out rebounding the Devils 46-32.

Cacoa Chatman led SPSCC with 19 points.

The Devils fall to 6-6 in the West Region, two games behind Highline in the loss column in the race for the final playoff spot. LCC has two games left and the Thunderbirds have four games left on the schedule.

LCC will have a shot at the T-Birds when the two teams meet Saturday February 23
rd at Myklebust Gym. Tip off is set for 7 pm. Six Devil sophomores will be honored prior to the game on Sophomore Night.

LCC ends the regular season at Tacoma on Wednesday February 27
th.
