The Lower Columbia women's basketball team may have had a bit of a Christmas hangover.
Back from a few days off to spend time with family at Christmas, the Devils opened the Lower Columbia Holiday Classic by getting down 23-6 in the first quarter to the Mt. Hood Saints. LCC rallied to get with one point in the final seconds, but the Saints held on for the 57-54 victory.
Ally Harman's potential game tying three pointer at the very end was no good. She may or may not have been fouled, but there was no whistle and the Devils dropped their tournament opener.
The Saints came out on fire and rebounding was a big key in the game. Mt. Hood out rebounded LCC 49-27. Bri Rosales led the Saints with 22 points and 11 boards.
Michaela Harris led the Devils with 11 points.Â
Madison Mosier had nine and
Cherita Daugherty had six points and six steals. Daugherty and Harris led the Red Devil pressure defense to get back in the game.
The Devils will take on the Columbia Basin Hawks on Saturday December 28th in a loser out game at 2:00 pm.
