A 15-0 first quarter run was the catalyst for an easy 71-41 Lower Columbia win over Columbia Basin on Thursday at the Linn Benton crossover in Albany, OR. The Hawks hit a three-point field goal to open the game, then saw the Red Devils score the next 15 points.
LCC's
Cherita Daugherty and
Madeline Jacobson hit consecutive layups to start the run.
Melenaite Kata and
Michaela Harris followed with field goals,
Ally Harman dropped a three pointer and Harris added a layup – before
Madison Mosier hit a pair of freebies to put LCC up 15-3 and the rout was on.
The Red Devils used another burst late in the third quarter to go ahead 62-26 headed to the final 10 minutes. The Hawks fought back in the fourth quarter to close the final gap.
Columbia Basin, coached by former Lower Columbia men's basketball assistant coach Roosevelt Smith, defeated the Red Devils 69-56 on November 16 in Eugene.

Lucas Myers played everyone and saw 12 of the 14 Red Devils score in the game.
Jodi Noyes came off the bench to lead LCC with 13 points. Jacobsen was the only other double-digit scorer with 10.
The Red Devils bench players combined to score 44 points and as a team LCC shot 47.5 percent from the field.
Lower Columbia has won four straight games and is now 7-3 on the season. The Red Devils have two more games in Albany before Christmas break. The Devils meet Treasure Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and then play the host Roadrunners at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
