Box Score What a weekend it was for the Lower Columbia Men's Basketball team December 13-15, sweeping a trio of California opponents in Los Altos, CA. Now winners of five straight, LCC stands 10-1 on the season.

Playing in a four-team crossover at Foothill College, the Red Devils opened by edging San Jose City College 72-68, beat the host team Foothill 59-56 and finished strong by coasting over Cuesta College 88-79.

It's another tough week ahead as the Red Devils head to the NWAC Crossover in Oregon City for games on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. LCC meets Walla Walla on Wednesday, December 18 at 3:00 pm at Clackamas College.

Friday – Lower Columbia 72, San Jose City College 68
Every time the Red Devils looked like they were pulling away, the Jaguars climbed back in and made it a battle until the final buzzer. Late free throws by LCC's Martis Johnson and Amiri Chukwuemeka were the difference at the end. Chukwuemeka led the LCC scorers with 19 points. Alexis Angeles scored 18 and Samaad Hector had 13.

Saturday – Lower Columbia 59, Foothill College 56
The home team proved to be a tough out in a game that was a defensive grinder from the opening tip, as evidenced by LCC's 23-22 lead over the Owls at halftime. Johnson had a big bucket late, then Cody Young buried a pair of FTs with nine seconds lead to propel the Devils to the win. Hector led LCC with 24 points. Angeles and Young each scored 10.

Sunday – Lower Columbia 88, Cuesta College 79
Lower Columbia raced to 48-30 halftime lead over the opponents from San Luis Obispo, CA and cruised to the easy win on the final day in California. Angeles scored 16, Hector 14 and Young 11 points to lead the scorers. Freshman Taylor Pomeroy buried three bombs for his nine points and steady sophomore Louden Wardius added eight points.
