Devils Clinch NWAC Berth With Win At Tacoma

As the 2019 Season winds down, and with NWAC Championship Tournament on the horizon, the Devils punched their ticket to the championships with a 3-2 road victory at Tacoma on Wednesday November 6th.

Although the first set did not go their way, starting the match with a 0-1 set disadvantage, LCC came back at Tacoma winning sets 2 and 3 25-20 and 25-17.

The Titan's fought back in Set 4 defeating LCC 22-25.  Not to be denied, the Devils rallied to win the final set 15-8.

Kiana Scott led the Devils with 13 Kills and 3 blocks.  Ashlynn Cantwell added 10 Kills and Haley Paul and Emma Nelson had 14 and 19 digs respectively.

Camryn Wilson had 26 assists and Karsyn Zaragoza added 18 helpers.

The Titans were led by Kate Pestova who had 47 attacks and 22 kills against LCC.

The Devils have two league matches left and if they dropped both and South Puget Sound won its final three, the teams would be tied but LCC would go to the tournament because of a league sweep over the Clippers.

LCC is now 23-12 overall and 7-3 in West Division play.  They take on the Centralia Trailblazers on Friday, November 8th at 7:00 P.M. in Centralia with designs of staying in the hunt for the number two spot in the division.

The Devils final regular season match is Wednesday November 13th when they take on Highline. It will be Sophomore Night where the players playing for the final time at home will be honored prior to the game.
