The Walla Walla Warriors were on the final leg of a three game road trip but you wouldn't have known it watching them play Sunday, November 24, at Myklebust Gym.
The Warriors are always a tough team and the Red Devils knew they would need to be at their best in order to get a win.
Lower Columbia jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead forcing Walla Walla to take a timeout and regroup. Whatever Coach Bobbi Hazeltine said in the timeout worked because the Warriors went on to score 9 unanswered points to take the lead and maintain it until the end of the game, final score of 66-58.
19 of the Warriors points came off of turnovers. The Devils turned it over 18 times to Walla Walla's 12. The Red Devils were 22 for 57 (38.6%) from the floor, 6-21 (28.6%) from beyond the arc, and 8-13 (61.5%) from the free throw line.
Cherita Daugherty lead the Devils with 16 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and 3 steals.
Jodi Noyes came off the bench to put up 10 points and
Madison Mosier had 7 points and a steal.
Bailey Farrer also pulled down 7 boards.
The Red Devils go to 3-2 on the season and have another tough home match coming up on Tuesday, November 26, vs the Clackamas Cougars. Tip off is set for 6:00 pm, the game will be broadcast on
Devilvision and can be heard on KLOG 100.7 FM (klog.com).
The Devils will then travel to Everett, WA for the Everett Classic on December 6 - 8.
