Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Big Second Quarter Leads To Win At Clark

It was game that got off to a painfully slow start.  The LCC Red Devil women's basketball team played a road game at Clark on Wednesday November 20th in Vancouver.

Four minutes into the game, neither team had a made basket.  But LCC slowly got going with a 16-12 lead after one quarter and then took control of the game outscoring the Penguins 21-7 in the fateful second.  When it was all said and done, the Red Devils came away with a 76-53 victory.

Sophomore Madison Mosier continues to play outstanding as she led LCC with 18 points including 3 for 4 from long distance.

Fellow sophomore Madeline Jacobson had 13 points on 5 for 8 shooting.  Melenaite Kata, also a sophomore, missed just one of four shots and collected eight points in 10 minutes of playing time.  Experience counts as sophomore Cherita Daugherty four points, and five assists.

The freshman on the LCC squad divvied up minutes and gained valuable experience.  Asia Castillo had a college career-high 10 points including a pair of three balls.  Danica Schmidt looked good with 10 points, five rebounds and a team-high seven assists.

The Devils are now 3-1 on the season as they return home for a big non-divisional game against NWAC power Walla Walla on Sunday November 24th.  The tip off at Myklebust Gym in the Stoller Athletic Center is set for 1 pm.
