It was a chance for everybody available to play to get out and show what they can do.
And the Lower Columbia Red Devils did a lot.
LCC raced out to a 70-28 lead at halftime and cruised to an easy 124-65 victory over the Multnomah University JV's on Wednesday November 20th.
Taylor Pomeroy got his first college start and made good on it scoring a game-high 20 points with 10 rebounds. With
Alexis Angeles nursing a sore ankle, Pomeroy got the start making 8 of 12 shots and 3 for 5 from three-point range.
With the game out of suspense early, head coach
Mickey Polis got to use a lot of combinations and learn more about his players.
Samaad Hector played just nine minutes, but he filled the stat sheet with 18 points and 14 rebounds in the limited run.
Six Lower Columbia players scored in double-figures.
Rarey Sommer had 15 points on perfect 7 for 7 shooting.
Travis Patrick had 14 points with nine rebounds including two vicious dunks.
Martis Johnson scored 11 and
Jonah Crumpton-Murray had 10 points and seven boards.
Amiri Chukwuemeka had seven points and seven assists and
Dawson Fritz had six assists along with five points.
Noah Robinson led the Lions with 11 points.
LCC shot 60 percent from the floor and 40 percent from long distance. The Red Devils dominated the boards to a 72-20 advantage.
LCC goes to 2-0 in the young season and they will travel to Salem Oregon for a game with the Chemeketa Storm on Tuesday November 26th. Game time is 7 pm.
The next home action is the first day of the Red Devil Classic on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.
