Red Devils volleyball hit the road on Wednesday, October 23 to get the second half of the season started at South Puget Sound Community College. The Clippers are in the process of remodeling their gym so the match was held at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. Lower Columbia finished the first half of the season at 4-2. The Devils have won the last seven matches vs the Clippers but they are not a team that you can sleep on as was shown in the first set of the match on Wednesday.
SPSCC out hit the Devils in set one .417% to .250% to win the first set 25-23. LCC regrouped after that and came out ready to work. They battle back and forth with the Clippers to take set two 25-23 and then settled into their game winning sets 3 and 4, 25-16 and 25-21 respectively.
Paige Moorcroft lead the Devils with 13 kills and 4 blocks,
Kiana Scott had 7 kills and 6 blocks, and
Zoe Naugle had a great game with 6 kills and 8 blocks on the night.Â
The win puts the Devils at 5-2 in league play and 21-11 overall which has them at third in the west region standings behind Pierce (#1) and Highline (#2).
LCC travels to Pierce this Friday, October 25 for a 7:00 pm match. Pierce won the last meeting in September 3-0.
