The Devils have played hard and fought in every match this season but injuries combined with bad luck and poor passing have lead to little offensive production on the field. This continued Saturday, October 12, when the Devils hit the road for a noon match vs the Tacoma Titans.
The Red Devils were on defense from the start as Tacoma came out aggressive from start scoring their first goal at 26' when Tacoma forward Isabella Weaver got the rebound off a block by Devils goal keeper
Arianna Siuda.
Siuda has done an outstanding job filling in at the goal keeper position after both LCC keepers suffered season ending injuries. She had 14 saves in the first half of the game Saturday. Unfortunately, Siuda was kicked in the head by a Tacoma player at the end of the first half, resulting in her being forced to sit out the rest of the game. Forward Karen Gonzales took over the keeper position for the second half and had seven saves but Tacoma got tow shot passed her.
The final score was 3-0 Tacoma.
Next up for the Devils is a home match vs #1 Highline Thunderbirds on Wednesday, October 16, at 4:00 pm.
