Red Devils volleyball made a statement on Wednesday night defeating the Tacoma Titans in three straight sets, 25-20, 25-22, and 25-23.
The most recent NWAC volleyball coaches poll came out and Lower Columbia fell off the rankings but anyone watching the game on Wednesday, October 10, knows this is not a team to sleep on.
While each set was close, Lower Columbia out played and out hustled Tacoma to come away with the sweep. LCC had a kill percentage of .231 to TCC's .156. The Devils lead in all stats on the night, sophomore
Abigail Brotherton lead the Devils with 11 kills and 5 blocks. Ashylynn Cantwell continued to be a dominate force the Devils with 11 kills of own.
Kiana Scott had a great night with 10 kills and 2 blocks.
Freshman setters
Camryn Wilson and
Karsyn Zaragoza worked together to make all of those kills possible with 25 and 17 assists respectively. Libero,
Emma Nelson is now number one in the NWAC for digs with 379 after adding 21 more against Tacoma.
This win puts the Devils solidly at third in the west region with Pierce at first and Highline in second. LCC will have another shot at Pierce on October 25 and will be at Highline on October 16.
But first, Lower Columbia will need to take care of business vs the Centralia Trailblazer on Friday, October 11, 7:00 pm, at home.
