Devils are now tied for second, with Highline, in NWAC west region play after defeating South Puget Sound 60-59 on Wednesday, January 23.
The scored stayed close all game with the largest lead of the night only being 9 points. The Devils had the lead going into the half at 29-26 but the Clippers came out strong in the 3rd quarter, out shooting the devils 19-14 to take a 5 point lead. It was 45-43 SPSCC going into the 4th but LCC regrouped and their shots started to fall. The Devils shot 50% from the floor in the fourth and made 100% of their FT shots to hold off the Clippers.
Emily Packham lead the Devils with 19 points, going 8-12 from the floor and 3-4 3PT shooting.
Nizhoni Wheeler had 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Shasta Lofgren also had 12 points and pulled down 7 boards with 2 assist.
Kenya Lorton had 7 points and 5 rebounds.
Trintiy Betoney had a great game for the Clippers with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
Next up for the Ladies is a trip to Des Moines, WA on Saturday, January 26 for a 12:00 pm tip off vs the Highline Thunderbirds. Winner gets sole possession of 2nd place in the west.
