Jerri Maluyo was hoping to have played her sophomore season of college hoops at Lower Columbia....last season.
But a knee injury with a long rehab and academic challenges stemming from her previous college led to a delay.
Her debut in a Red Devil uniform was promising. Maluyo scored seven points and dished out seven assists as the Devils defeated Grays Harbor 83-68 in Aberdeen on Saturday January 19
th.
Maluyo performance off the bench energized the Devils.
Nizhoni Wheeler had a huge game for the Devils. The sophomore post had 25 points, hitting 10 of 15 shots. Nones also had four rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal.
Kenya Lorton had 22 points and eight rebounds.
Emily Packham had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Shasta Lofgren added nine points, four rebounds and four assists.
Madison Mosier supplied seven points.
The Devils got off to a 22-14 lead after one and then closed it out by outscoring the Chokers 21-13 in the 4
th quarter.
Sandin Kidder led Grays Harbor with 18.
Lower Columbia is 3-1 in league as they next host South Puget Sound for ASLCC Spirit Night on Wednesday January 23
