Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Ice Cold Shooting Night As Devils Lose To Centralia

It was chilly inside Myklebust Gym On Saturday January 12th.

The temperature was fine and there was plenty of body warmth from a big crowd but the Lower Columbia women's team were ice cold shooting the ball in a 60-54 loss to Centralia.

The Devils were 18 for 56 from the floor (32%) and just 5 for 25 (20%) from three point range.  The defense was good enough to win, but the off night shooting played a big part in the loss.

Both teams struggled shooting the ball, but it was a big second quarter that did the trick for Centralia as they outscored LCC 26-16 in the quarter.

Kenya Lorton led LCC with 19 points and six rebounds.  Emily Packham had 14 points, four boards, five assists and two steals.
Nizhoni Wheeler had 11 points and nine rebounds for LCC.

Piper Cai led the Blazers with 19.

Lower Columbia slips to 1-1 in the West and 9-8 overall. Centralia is now 2-0 in league play.

The Devils have two straight games on the road.  They take on the Pierce Raiders in Lakewood on Wednesday January 16th. Game time is 6 pm.

LCC travels to Aberdeen for a road game on Saturday January 19th on the Grays Harbor campus. Game time is 2 pm.
